Job Purpose
The Waiter is responsible for providing professional, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to guests across Rwanda Ultimate Golf Course restaurants and service areas. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional guest experience through accurate order-taking, timely service, cleanliness, and adherence to the organization’s service and hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Hospitality
Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating when required.
Present menus and guide guests in selecting food and beverages.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and confirm details with guests.
Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally in line with service standards.
Attend to guest needs throughout the dining experience and respond politely to requests.
Service Area Preparation & Cleanliness
Prepare tables and service areas before service begins.
Clear tables during and after service efficiently and professionally.
Maintain cleanliness and proper setup of tables, sections, and side stations.
Ensure service equipment and supplies are available, clean, and ready for use.
Billing & Cash Handling
Process guest bills accurately using the approved POS system.
Present bills and collect payments according to company procedures.
Handle all transactions responsibly, accurately, and securely.
Menu Knowledge & Communication
Maintain good knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and basic beverage offerings.
Communicate menu changes, availability, and promotions clearly to guests.
Standards, Safety & Teamwork
Deliver attentive, respectful, and efficient service at all times.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Maintain grooming and uniform standards in accordance with company policy.
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
Report guest complaints, incidents, or operational issues promptly to the Supervisor.
Work closely with kitchen, bar, and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
Support colleagues during busy service periods, events, and banquets.
Perform other food and beverage-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food and beverage service or hospitality is an advantage.
Basic training in customer service or hospitality is desirable.
Skills & Competencies
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Good communication skills in English (verbal and listening).
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Willingness to learn and adapt to operational needs.
Working Conditions
Shift-based role, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
