Internship Overview
The Communications & Program Support Intern will play a vital role in supporting the organization’s communications, digital presence, and program coordination activities. This internship offers hands-on experience in storytelling, content creation, social media management, and event coordination within the development and non-profit sector.
This role is ideal for creative, proactive, and organized individuals who are passionate about communications, youth empowerment, and social impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Communications & Digital Content

Create, schedule, and manage content for social media platforms.

Produce short videos, reels, and visual content for digital engagement.

Draft social media posts, blogs, website content, and outreach materials.
-
Document events and programs through photography, video recording, and written summaries.

Develop content in both English and Kinyarwanda.
2. Event Management & Logistics Support

Support planning and implementation of the International Women’s Day event.

Assist with participant management, invitations, confirmations, and follow-ups.

Liaise with venues, caterers, and external service providers.

Provide on-the-day event coordination, including registration and logistics support.
3. Program Support – Youth Social Entrepreneurship Program (YSEP)

Support coordination and logistics for YSEP activities.

Assist with program planning and communications.
-
Support the YSEP Graduation event scheduled for February 2026.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Interest
-
Strong interest in communications, social media, storytelling, and development work.
-
Interest in youth empowerment, gender equality, entrepreneurship, and social impact.
Technical & Communication Skills
-
Experience or demonstrable skills in social media management, video creation, or digital content production.

Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.

Basic skills in graphic design or video editing tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or similar platforms.
Professional & Personal Attributes

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Energetic, proactive, and self-motivated attitude.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Previous experience supporting events, workshops, or conferences is an added advantage.
Supervision & Reporting
The Intern will work under the supervision of the Executive Director and Program Manager, receiving mentorship and guidance throughout the internship period.
