Internship Overview
Akagera Aviation is seeking a motivated Data Analyst Intern to support data-driven decision-making across multiple departments. The intern will work closely with IT and business teams to collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data that supports daily operations and strategic planning.
This internship offers hands-on experience in real-world data analysis within the aviation industry, along with mentorship from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, clean, and prepare data from various internal systems
Build, update, and maintain dashboards using Power BI
Generate reports and analyses using Microsoft Excel
Analyze trends related to operational performance, costs, and efficiency
Translate business questions into clear analytical insights and visual outputs
Document queries, metrics, assumptions, and analytical processes
Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure data accuracy and usability
Required Qualifications
Final-year student or recent graduate in Statistics, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, lookups, charts)
Basic to intermediate SQL skills
Experience using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
Ability to work with CSV files and structured datasets
Understanding of descriptive statistics and basic analytical concepts
Good to Have
Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis
Familiarity with ETL processes or data automation tools
Interest in aviation, logistics, operations, or finance
Personal Attributes
Curious and eager to learn about business processes
Able to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical teams
Well-organized and capable of handling multiple tasks
Comfortable asking questions and seeking clarification
Trustworthy and responsible when handling confidential information
